Missions Partnership: iFace: Interface Ministries
In October, Laura Hornby of iFace delivered a guest sermon message, reminding us that loving our neighbors includes the internationals and refugees living right here in Greenville—many just around the corner from where we worship each Sunday.
Saint Thomas Church is partnering with iFace (International Friends of Alliance for Cross-Cultural Exchange) to extend that love in tangible ways.
iFace began in 1983 as a cross-country, cross-cultural ministry that sparked conversations about Christianity and was incorporated in 1991. Over the decades, it has expanded through partnerships with local churches and universities, outreach to international students at events like the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and faithful ministry on campuses nationwide. Today, iFace serves in fourteen states and has welcomed students and refugees from more than 150 countries.
Its mission is simple: to meet people where they are, listen to their stories, and share life, community, and hope. Through creative and practical expressions of hospitality—furniture giveaways, English classes, and “Friendship Families” who open their homes—iFace helps newcomers build a sense of belonging and experience Christ’s love through ordinary people.
Here in Greenville, Saint Thomas is joining that story of welcome. There’s an immediate need for volunteers to drive refugee women to and from English classes at Aldersgate on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Others can serve as conversation partners, helping these women practice their English, build friendships, and grow in confidence as they navigate life in a new country.
