Safeguarding at Saint Thomas Church
One of the ways we love our neighbors is by creating a church that is safe for everyone. Saint Thomas Church and the Anglican Diocese of the Carolinas are committed to ensuring that our churches are safe havens for all people.
As clergy, vestry, staff, and volunteers, we are responsible for keeping our children, youth, and vulnerable adults safe. We will consistently follow our ADOC policy and report policy violations.
The Bishop and the Diocese strictly prohibit all types of abuse by any member of the clergy, anyone pursuing ordained ministry, any employee, staff person, vestry member, or any Child and Youth Worker working in any capacity for the Diocese or any diocesan-related institution/church in this Diocese. Together, we will build a solid safety net for our children, youth, and vulnerable adults.

Safety is the priority of the Diocese of the Carolinas and all membership churches. We strive to cultivate an environment where everyone is welcomed and their well-being is protected.
-
Clergy, employees (including childcare workers), vestry, and all volunteers serving with minors or with adults in the areas of prayer ministry, lay eucharistic ministry, or other ministries of congregational and pastoral care must be properly trained to care for those they serve in ministry.
Training Resources: We seek to protect adults and children from abuse and misconduct within our church ministries.
