Our Worship

Each week we gather around Word and Sacrament, the pattern the Church has followed since its earliest days. In worship, we are reminded of who God is, who we are, and what He is doing in the world.

At the center of our life together is worship.

Our liturgy is both ancient and accessible. Rooted in the prayers and rhythms handed down through the centuries, it welcomes newcomers and seasoned Christians alike into the same story.

We sing, we listen to Scripture, we pray, we confess, and we come to the Table together. In these acts, God renews us and sends us out in the power of the Spirit.

Visit Us

We gather every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at 506 Edwards Road, where Renovation Church graciously shares its building with us. We are deeply thankful for their hospitality, which allows us to worship together each week in a beautiful and welcoming space.

  • When you arrive, you’ll find signs directing you to the sanctuary entrance and children’s check-in. Greeters will meet you at the door, answer questions, and help you get settled.

  • Parking is available on-site. We encourage you to come a few minutes early, especially if you are checking in children, since that process takes a little extra time.

  • Kids: Nursery is offered for ages 0–3, and children 4 years through 5th grade have their teaching during the sermon. They return before communion.

  • The first Sunday of each month is Family Sunday. Coloring activities and clipboards are always available.

Worship Service

Our service lasts approximately 80 minutes. Anglican worship is shaped by a living liturgy: Scripture, songs, and prayers handed down from the earliest centuries of the church. This pattern helps us worship with reverence and joy, drawing us into God’s story and sending us into the world renewed.

Here is the flow of our worship:

  • Entering God’s Presence — hymns, procession of the cross, opening prayers.

  • Hearing God’s Word — readings from the Old Testament, Psalms, Epistle, and Gospel, followed by a sermon and the Nicene Creed.

  • Responding to God’s Word — prayers of the people, confession, and the passing of the peace.

  • Celebrating the Lord’s Supper — bread and wine, shared at the Lord’s Table as Christ commanded.

  • Going Out in Peace — a blessing and dismissal into the world.

Everyone is invited to participate at their comfort level. You’ll receive a bulletin to follow, and all responses are printed for you. Our music is a blend of hymns and contemporary songs, always chosen to serve the liturgy.

“Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” — Psalm 96:9

Sacraments

Every Sunday we celebrate the Eucharist, the sacrament Jesus gave us for the continual remembrance of his victory over death and to receive spiritual nourishment through his presence. In the Anglican tradition, all baptized Christians are invited to receive Communion.

  • At Saint Thomas Church, you may receive the wine either by drinking directly from the cup, by intinction (gently dipping the wafer into the wine), or by receiving in one kind only, the bread. A gluten-free option is available at every service.

  • If you do not wish to receive Communion, you are welcome to come forward and receive a prayer of blessing instead, indicated by crossing your arms over your chest.

  • We also celebrate Holy Baptism, the sacrament of new life in Christ.

  • Other sacramental rites in the Anglican tradition include Confirmation, Marriage, Reconciliation, Ordination, and Anointing of the Sick.

  • Children and nursery ministries are released to parents before Communion so all may participate.
