Establishing Our Church Home

25 Sweetbriar, Suite K-A

After a year of gathering in borrowed space, we are now beginning to establish a church home of our own at 25 Sweetbriar Road. The building itself has a history of use for worship and is part of a shared building with other small neighborhood businesses in the same part of Greenville where we have already been gathering.

Key Dates

  • Saturday, June 6
Work Day + Preparing the Space (Join any time from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; feel free to simply drop by to check out the space. Food will be provided!)

  • Sunday, June 14
    First Sunday Gathering, 10:00 a.m.

How You Can Volunteer

  • On Saturday, June 6, we will spend the day cleaning, organizing, and beginning to shape the space together.

  • Come for any portion of the day; more details will be shared as we get closer.

How You Can Support

  • Pray for the life of this church and this space

  • Support the formation of our new church home by making a donation or purchasing an item from our wish list.

Our First Sunday: June 14 at 10:00 a.m.

On Sunday, June 14, we will gather for the first time at 25 Sweetbriar Road.

Things may feel a bit unfinished. We are still setting up children’s spaces, hospitality rhythms, and the practical details that make a place feel settled. But we will be there together.

Our worship will remain simple and rooted in Word and Sacrament. We will pray, sing, listen, and come to the table as we always have.

25 Sweetbriar Transition Questions

  • 25 Sweetbriar Road, Greenville, SC. Our formal lease includes suites K-A. It is the largest portion of the building on the corner of Sweetbriar and Indian Springs Roads.

  • We will celebrate Holy Communion on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m.

  • There is a dedicated parking lot at 25 Sweetbriar Road with 70 parking spots available. We will share the parking lot with other tenants, but they are, for the most part, closed on Sundays. If the lot fills, additional parking is available next door at the adjacent strip mall and along nearby side streets.

  • The most immediate need is for the June 6 Work Day.

We will also share a list of additional needs for the space in the coming weeks.

  • We will be able to design the space to ensure that the Altar Table is centered and that there is ample wall and window space for beautiful, contemplative features such as artwork, icons, and even stained glass (to be added over time). We will be able to change liturgical colors as the season demands and offer a small prayer chapel in the back of the space.

Based on the survey many of you completed, our church desires that this space be sacred and hospitable. With little or with much, we intend to reflect these values with design and the items that we purchase. We also implore you, the church, to continue treating our services as sacred and express gospel hospitality.

  • There is a clear main entrance to the building.

We are working toward installing permanent signage. In the meantime, we will have temporary signs to help guide you.

  • Yes. We will have dedicated spaces for children, including two classrooms and a nursery. This space is available downstairs, which will help with safety and security for our children’s ministry.

We are still putting these spaces in place and establishing rhythms for how they will function each Sunday. Our aim is to create a safe, welcoming environment for both children and parents.

  • Not entirely.

This will be a space that is built and shaped over time. We are entering it together at the beginning, not after everything is complete.

  • The building capacity is 172, and our average Sunday has been in the high 70s. We should have some time before we outgrow the space. When that time comes, we will prayerfully discern whether to start a second service.

Church planting is also a value and prayer. As the church grows, our consideration and prayers towards planting another church will also grow.tem description

  • With the generous support of Village Church and Renovation Church, our monthly expenses have been low the past year. This has allowed us to give generously and build up more than a year's worth of reserve funds.

In the immediate future, this new building expense will put our monthly expenses in the red. However, with our reserves, we will have nearly 18 months to grow so that this building expense can comfortably fit within our budget. Even with this budget increase, our commitment remains to give at least 10% to missions and service outside the church and 10% to our diocese. We are immensely proud and grateful for the generosity of our church and those who have supported this endeavor.

  • We hope, plan, and pray that the building will be actively used throughout the week. We plan to have facilities available for prayer throughout the week, to host classes that serve and equip the saints, and to provide a space for confession and pastoral care as needed. We are eager to offer this space to our ministry partners, such as World Relief and iFace, for hosting regional training events. We also hope to become a trusted and stable member of the community, one to whom our neighbors can turn in times of both physical and spiritual need.
